Application Screening Publication Protection

Application

All required documents should be submitted within 3 months from date of application. Note: It is recommended to submit an applicant by Email or Fax, authorizing us to undertake patent application according to PCT or Paris Agreement in case it is difficult for your company to keep pace with the due date of entry into the national phase of the DPRK.

Screening

It will take up to 15 Month for substantive screening upon application.

Publication

Publication will be made within 3 month upon date of decision to issue patents.

Protection

The period of validity of protection is 15 years, which can be renewed for a further period of 5 years according to the demand of applicant.

Required Documents for Patent Application

  1. By entry of a PCT patent application into national phase

    • Application for PCT patent registration with PCT application number
    • Letter of Attorney
    • A relevant document shall be submitted if corrections are made in international investigation and international preliminary screening
  2. In case it is no PCT international patent application

    • PCT application document
    • Letter of Attorney
    • Inventory
    • Priority document
